The Baselios Poulose Second College is one of five institutions managed by the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Education Trust, Malekruz. The college is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and is recognized as one of the leading arts and commerce colleges under the university. It is a minority community institution, named in honor of Baselios Poulose II, the former supreme head of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church in India. Established in 2003, the institution was founded with a clear mission and vision aimed at academic excellence and community development.
